Claims: | 1. A method of making an aerosol formulation suitable for delivery to the lung by inhalation comprising the steps of: (a) providing an aerosol container, and (b) charging to said container: (i) a medicament in an amount sufficient to provide a plurality of therapeutically effective doses, (ii) an amount of propellant sufficient to propel from said container said plurality of therapeutically effective doses, said propellant being substantially free of chlorofluorocarbons and comprising 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and (iii) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, n-pentane, isopentane, neopentane, isopropyl myristate, and mixtures thereof, and (iv) a surface active agent. |
