Patent Claims: |
1. A method of treating a Coronaviridae infection in a human in need thereof, comprising administering to the human a therapeutically effective amount of a compound having
formula: ##STR00264## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. The method of claim 1, comprising administering to the human a therapeutically effective amount of a compound having formula: ##STR00265## 3. The method of claim 1, further comprising administering a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. 4. The method of claim 1, further comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of at least one other therapeutic agent. 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the at least one other therapeutic agent is selected from the group consisting of a corticosteroid, an anti-inflammatory signal transduction modulator, .beta.2-adrenoreceptor agonist bronchodilator, an anticholinergic, a mucolytic agent, hypertonic saline, and other drugs for treating a Coronaviridae virus infection; or mixtures thereof. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the Coronaviridae infection is caused by a Coronaviridae virus selected from the group consisting of SARS, MERS, 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the Coronaviridae infection is caused by a SARS virus. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the Coronaviridae infection is caused by a MERS virus. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered by oral, rectal, nasal, pulmonary, topical, vaginal, or parenteral administration. 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered by parenteral administration. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered by subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, intradermal, intrathecal, or epidural administration. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered by intravenous administration. 13. The method of claim 1, wherein the compound, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is administered by inhalation administration. |
