A method of controlling the formation of visible dandruff comprising applying to the hair and scalp of humans affected therewith a composition comprising a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and 5,7-dichlor-8-hydroxy quinoline in an amount sufficient to provide 2.
