Patent Claims: | 1. An anhydrous composition consisting essentially of:hydroxypropyl cellulose at a concentration in a range of 0.5% to about 2% by weight of the anhydrous composition,ethanol or isopropyl alcohol at a concentration in a range of 45% to 90% by weight of the anhydrous composition,hexylene glycol at a concentration of about 10% by weight of the anhydrous composition,cyclomethicone at a concentration of about 2.5% by weight of the anhydrous composition, anda nitric oxide (NO)-releasing compound at a concentration in a range of 0.01% to 40% by weight of the anhydrous composition.2. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the anhydrous composition comprises ethanol.3. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the anhydrous composition comprises isopropyl alcohol.4. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration in a range of 0.01% to 30% by weight of the anhydrous composition.5. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration in a range of 0.01% to 2% by weight of the anhydrous composition.6. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the hydroxypropyl cellulose is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration in a range of 0.5% to about 1% by weight of the anhydrous composition.7. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the hydroxypropyl cellulose is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 1% by weight of the anhydrous composition.8. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 1% by weight of the anhydrous composition.9. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 2% by weight of the anhydrous composition.10. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 4% by weight of the anhydrous composition.11. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 8% by weight of the anhydrous composition.12. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 12% by weight of the anhydrous composition.13. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 16% by weight of the anhydrous composition.14. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 20% by weight of the anhydrous composition.15. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 24% by weight of the anhydrous composition.16. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 30% by weight of the anhydrous composition.17. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound is present in the anhydrous composition at a concentration of about 32% by weight of the anhydrous composition.18. The anhydrous composition of claim 1 , wherein the NO-releasing compound comprises diazeniumdiolated co-condensed silica particles. |
