Patent Claims: |
1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the formula ##STR6## wherein R, each which may be the same or different, is hydrogen or a protecting group; wherein Z is a
halogen of the group F, Cl, and Br; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, said composition being in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for oral, topical, or parenteral administration.
2. A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 wherein R is a protecting group. 3. A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 wherein R is hydrogen. 4. A pharmaceutical composition according to claims 1, 2 or 3 wherein Z is Cl. 5. A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 wherein the compound is 2-Chloro-9-(2-deoxy-2-fluoro-.beta.-D arabinofuranosyl)-9H-purin-6-amine. 6. A purine nucleoside having the formula ##STR7## wherein R, each which may be the same or different, is hydrogen or a protecting group; wherein Z is a halogen of the group F, Cl, and Br; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. 7. A purine nucleoside according to claim 6 wherein R is hydrogen. 8. A purine nucleoside according to claim 6 wherein R is a protecting group. 9. A purine nucleoside according to claims 6, 7 or 8 wherein Z is Cl. 10. A purine nucleoside according to claim 6 which is 2-Chloro-9-(2-deoxy-2-fluoro-.beta.-D arabinofuranosyl)-9H-purin-6-amine. |
