Abstract: Disclosed are methods for inhibiting abnormal cell growth or treating hyperproliferative diseases in mammals, comprising administering to a mammal in heed thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising 6-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-7-fluoro-3-methyl-3H-benzoimidazole-5-car- boxylic acid (2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-amide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with an effective amount of an anti-tumor agent or in combination with radiation therapy.

Patent Claims: 1. A method of alleviating or inhibiting the progress of a hyperproliferative disorder in a mammal in need thereof, comprising administering to said mammal an effective amount of 6-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-7-fluoro-3-methyl-3H-benzoimidazole-5-car- boxylic acid (2-hydroxyethoxy)-amide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with an effective amount of an anti-tumour agent selected from the group consisting of mitotic inhibitors, alkylating agents, anti-metabolites, intercalating antibiotics, growth factor inhibitors, cell cycle inhibitors, enzyme inhibitors, topoisomerase inhibitors, biological response modifiers, anti-hormones, angiogenesis inhibitors and anti-androgens, wherein said hyperproliferative disorder is selected from the group consisting of lung cancer, squamous cell cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, head cancer, neck cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma.

A method of alleviating or inhibiting the progress of a hyperproliferative disorder in a mammal in need thereof, comprising administering to said mammal a compound which is 6-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-7-fluoro-3-methyl-3H-benzoimidazole-5-car- boxylic acid (2-hydroxyethoxy)-amide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in combination with radiation therapy, wherein the amounts of the compound or salt is, in combination with the radiation therapy, effective in treating the hyperproliferative disorder, wherein said hyperproliferative disorder is selected from the group consisting of lung cancer, squamous cell cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, head cancer, neck cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and melanoma.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein said cancer is melanoma.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said cancer is melanoma.
