Patent Claims: |
1. A method of increasing the length of eyelashes in a human, comprising administering a bimatoprost solution wherein the composition is applied topically to the upper
eyelid margin which results in increased eyelash length.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition is applied to the lower eyelid margin. 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition is applied at least once a day. 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition is applied once a day. 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition increases the length of eyelashes. 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition increases the thickness of eyelashes. 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition increases the darkness of eyelashes. 8. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition increases the length of eyelashes. 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the composition increases the length of eyelashes including length, thickness and darkness. 10. A method of application of bimatoprost to an eyelid margin for use in growing eyelashes in a human, the composition comprising a 0.03% w/v bimatoprost solution wherein the composition is applied topically to the upper eyelid margin and wherein application of the composition to the upper eyelid margin results in increased eyelash length. 11. The method of claim 10 wherein the composition is applied to the lower eyelid margin. 12. The method of claim 10 wherein the bimatoprost is present in a dermatologically acceptable carrier. 13. The method of claim 10 wherein the bimatoprost is in an aqueous solution and is applied to the upper and lower eyelid margin. 14. The method of claim 10 wherein the composition is applied once a day. 15. The method of claim 10 wherein the composition is used to treat eyelash loss. 16. The method of claim 10 wherein the composition increases at least one attribute selected from the group consisting of length, thickness and darkness. 17. The method of claim 14 wherein the composition increases the length of eyelashes in the human in comparison to the human receiving no bimatoprost solution. 18. A method for use in claim 10 wherein the density of the eyelashes are increased. 19. A method of increasing the growth of eyelashes in a human, the method comprising application of a composition comprising 0.03% w/v bimatoprost to the eyelid margin results in increased eyelash length. 20. The method of claim 19 wherein the composition is an aqueous solution and when applied once daily to an eyelid margin, the composition increases the rate of growth of eyelashes. 21. The method of claim 20 wherein the composition increases the rate of growth of eyelashes including increasing their length, thickness and darkness. 22. The method of claim 20 wherein the composition increases the density of eyelashes. 23. The method of claim 19, wherein the composition is applied once daily to the upper eyelid margin. 24. The method of claim 19, wherein the composition is applied once daily to the lower eyelid margin. 25. The method of claim 19 wherein the composition further includes benzalkonium chloride. 26. The method of claim 19 wherein the composition increases the length of eyelashes in a human in comparison to the human receiving no bimatoprost. |
