Patent Claims: | 1. A nitric oxide-releasing particle comprising:a co-condensed silica network comprising methylaminopropyl trimethoxysilane (MAP3) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), wherein the MAP3 is distributed throughout the nitric oxide-releasing particle, and wherein the MAP3 comprises N-diazeniumdiolate functionalized MAP3.2. The nitric oxide-releasing particle of claim 1 , wherein the MAP3 is present in a mol % of 10% to 75%.3. The nitric oxide-releasing particle of claim 1 , wherein the MAP3 is present in a mol % of 1% to 90%.4. The nitric oxide-releasing particle of claim 1 , wherein the MAP3 is present in a mol % of 45% to 55%.5. The nitric oxide-releasing particle of claim 4 , wherein the MAP3 is present in a mol % of about 50%. |
